| Canadian Domain Ride - Day 40 |

Twice the selection, twice the fun!
Forgive me for ending the series on an in-joke, but technically this was the end of our trip. I marveled at this sight as we waited for a very patient cab to pick us up at least a full hour after the zoo had closed.
So that's it! Stay tuned for news of the book launch party, tentatively planned for early January. There's information about prints on the domainride.ca site as well.

| Canadian Domain Ride - Day 39 |
[Dec. 18th, 2008|04:25 pm] |

Sadly, this is the end of the line for us. Of course, we were excited not to have angry Zoo types chasing us, but there's a certain anti-climax associated with knowing that for us, the monorail stops here.
Yet, there's one last day left. How will I see fit to end this? Tune in tomorrow.

I don't have anything particularly witty or insightful to say about this plant, and maybe that's okay.

Today's photo is a Fall heavy hitter, non? I'm not wild about sunset photography, but this is about as close as I'd approach it.

Last five days! Where will it end?
I hope to have a firm ETA for the newly finished 40 Days on the Monorail: The Perfect Gift any day now. Sadly, they will *not* arrive by the time the set has finished, which means the launch will likely be in January. Sorry!

| Canadian Domain Ride - Day 35 |

The flicker of dying light through the trees is compelling to us, like moths drawn to flame.
Apparently, Albert Einstein thought of the theory of relativity while riding on a bus. Research shows that rhythmic pulses of light can trigger brain activity.

| Canadian Domain Ride - Day 34 |
[Dec. 11th, 2008|04:28 pm] |

Most parts of the track weave roughly along the river. It's usually just out of sight, but as you walk along you catch snippets of sounds, people talking, and children laughing.
At first it's totally unnerving, and then... well, it stays totally unnerving. It makes you think that any moment there's going to be Dudes with Questions.

This shot was actually taken by accident; I was using the camera to prop up another camera.
Sometimes an unexpected change in perspective is just the thing you need.

| Canadian Domain Ride - Day 32 |
[Dec. 9th, 2008|04:52 pm] |

It's worth noting that while the Ride takes you over bridges with water below, you're still very much inside of a valley.
As such, with the sun setting it often felt like we were quickly getting trapped in the dark. Our own little photographic X-Wing run on the Death Star, if you will.

| Canadian Domain Ride - Day 31 |
[Dec. 8th, 2008|02:55 pm] |

One of the most interesting details of the trek is that in sunny areas, the path is basically clear.
If there's a significant tree cover, the track gets covered in this thick disgusting slime that seems to be part dung, part mold.
Walk, don't run. |
